Experience

April 2010 — May 2010

Macmillian Publishing

Senior Digital Designer/Web Designer

I moved down to London from Edinburgh on a 4-week long contract to work within the Macmillian Publishing group at Nature. My job was to re-skin existing site designs with new, and up-to-date modern designs. Day to day duties included interaction with clients — basing concepts on their feedback and redesigning multiple pages of existing sub-sites.

December 2009 — February 2010

Freelance designer

Digital Designer/Web Designer

I work in and around Edinburgh as a freelance designer from time to time. I have been working onsite and from home on many projects such as websites, online banners, video editing and much more.

I work with clients from across the board including media sales, coffee shops and charities. I am always looking for more freelance clients and work in the Edinburgh area.

September 2008 — September 2009

Prudential

Senior Digital Designer/Web Designer

While working for Prudential in their Stirling office as a contract senior digital designer my design responsibilities include e-newsletter designs, landing page designs (both front end design and build in CSS), flash banner ads, HTML and flash campaigns, cross browser testing, client liaison, time management, interactive flash learner modules and more.

2005 — 2008

Ballistix Australia Pty Ltd

Senior Web Designer

I began at Ballistix as a graduate web designer and worked my way to senior web designer over a 3 year period. I designed websites, e-news letters, landing pages, banner ads, Flash campaigns, web forms and more. I also designed logos, stationary, and brochures.

I was in charge of domain management, hosting maintenance and client liaison. Some of the technologies used with client websites were PHP, Javascript, Ajax and web forms.

Education

Graduated from Cooparoo Secondary College in 2000. Completed my Advanced Diploma in Electronic Design and Advertising at the Commerical Arts Training College (CATC) in 2005.

Interests

I’m a massive sports enthusiest! I love playing Rubgy League and touch rugby. To be honest, I enjoy all sports!

I like to go out on the town and socialise with my mates.

Travelling is one of my favourite past times. I find experiencing another culture truly amazing!

I am getting into my photography. taking it more seriously with the purchase of my new toy — a Nikon D90 DSLR.

a little bit about me

G-day, my name is Dan Treasure. I am a 26 year old web designer from Brisbane, QLD, Australia.

As an Aussie, I’m passionate about my sport and travel but I am also passionate about design! After graduating from high school in 2000, I worked as a sign-writer (both design and installation) but I was never 100% satisfied — I needed more creative freedom.

In 2003 I started my ´Diploma of Arts in Advertising and Digital Design´ at the Commercial Arts Training College (CATC). I loved it so much; I extended my course to an Advanced Diploma in Electronic Design and Advertising.

After graduating from CATC in 2005 I worked as a contract designer for VIP Backpackers and Sign-A-Rama for a few months. I began full-time work at Ballistix Australia, an Australian Sales Process and Engineering company, in the design department as a junior web designer.

After 3 years at Ballistix and many fully functional websites, e-newsletters, logos, stationary, brochures and more, I left having become the senior designer. During this time I also completed many freelance websites in my spare time.

In April 2008, I decided to travel through Thailand and Europe and work in the UK to gain more experience in both life and web design.

From September 2008 until the end of September 2009, I was working for Prudential at their office in Stirling as a senior digital designer. While working at Prudential I designed websites, e-marketing material, e-learning flash animations and interactive modules, campaign landing pages and general digital updates for several of their websites.

In October till late November I went back to Australia for family commitments.

From December to April I was working as a freelance designer for clients around Edinburgh. In April I had a one month contract in London with Nature – part of Macmillan Publishing Group.

From May to July I joined a charity cycle through Ireland and France in a effort to raise money for mental health and sustainable travel.
